GOMlab

GOM is a Windows only player, but it works like a treat on that operating system without the need to find and install codecs for most file formats.

Download it from here www.gomlab.com/eng/

It can often play incomplete or damaged AVI files by using special algorithms that skip the damaged frames.

The software gives you one-click access to the control panel to tweak your playback settings - I especially like the Easy Browser option for searching your PC for files to play.
